Support HKSACT

You can donate to a specific project or to HKSACT's general operating budget. All support makes a difference, and donations of any size are highly appreciated.

Philanthropic Mission & Governance

HKSACT is a non-profit society registered in Hong Kong. The mission of HKSACT is to be the resource for professional development, knowledge, and information exchange for our members; to promote the use of algorithms and computing technology in research, education, and industrial practices.

In order to work towards our mission, we would like to ask for your support. Below we outline the different projects that we are seeking donations for, and we explain how funds will be used for each initiative.

Endowment Allocation Principles

100% Direct Programmatic Allocation Designated contributions go entirely toward specified funds (student bursaries, lecture series, educator honoraria).

Verified Non-Profit Governance Governed under the Societies Ordinance of Hong Kong with transparent financial reporting and audited accounts.

Formal Stamped Tax Receipts Electronic and authenticated paper receipts issued for institutional accounting, foundation grants, and tax records.

Global Educational Equity Priority given to underrepresented researchers, doctoral candidates from developing universities, and open courseware.

Projects Seeking Donations

You may allocate your philanthropic gift to a specific educational program or to the Society's general research development fund.

PROJECT · 01

Introductory Lecture Series

HKSACT is setting up an introductory lecture series, in which experienced academics in algorithms and computing technology teach the basic principles of different methods within our fields. These videos will be made available to the general public, allowing anyone to view and re-use them. Donations will contribute to the video editing and general overseeing of this project.

Bursaries for Students

These funds will be made available to allow for more student representation at HKSACT conferences. Bursaries can contribute to the conference fees, or support travel expenses, so that students who would otherwise have been unable to attend may participate in our events.

Honorarium for Educators

These donations will be provided to our educators, including keynote speakers involved in our international or regional conferences, and mentors who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with our members and others.

General Donation

Funds donated in this category will be added to the overall HKSACT budget.
