Become a Member

HKSACT, like many non-profit professional societies, is led and served by active volunteer members. Here you can join as an individual member, and learn about volunteer and mentoring opportunities to get involved.

To volunteer, your membership must be active. HKSACT welcomes people from all over the world. As a member you join professional peers from more than 20 countries in advancing algorithms and computing technology and their applications.

Membership Types

HKSACT provides different membership types to meet the needs of our members across all levels. Explore the types below and see which one applies best to you.

Student Membership
Individuals enrolled full-time at a college, university, or other educational institution, with proof of status
If the primary intention of the individual is education, student membership is allowed even when enrollment is not full-time
Regular Membership
Master's degree or PhD holders majoring in computer-related professions
Individuals working in the field of computer technology
Senior Membership
PhD holders majoring in computer-related professions; Regular Member certificate holders
A professional title of Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor
Getting involved in many HKSACT activities with good performance
Fellow Membership
PhD holders majoring in computer-related professions; Senior Member certificate holders
A professional title of Associate Professor, Professor, or Distinguished Professor
Getting involved in many HKSACT activities and significant contribution to the development of the Society

Volunteer Opportunities

Help with Society activities and events. Volunteers implement the mission of HKSACT alongside staff and contribute to the wider technology community.

Complete a Membership Application Form and send it to us for further processing.

Eligibility 01

Determine Membership Grade

Identify the appropriate membership grade (Student, Regular, Senior, or Fellow) that aligns with your educational qualifications, research background, and professional standing.

Standards 02

Academic Code & Governance

All memberships are individual and non-transferable. Candidates agree to uphold the Society's academic ethics code, professional competence, and scholarly integrity in computing technology.

Induction 03

Credentials Review & Activation

The Admissions Committee verifies candidate credentials upon submission. Approved members receive official certificates and immediate access to conference subsidies and journal benefits.

Complete the official Word form and email it for processing. Students should attach proof of student status (for example a student ID).

  1. Download HKSACT-Membership-Application.docx and fill it in English.
  2. Attach a CV (max 4 pages) and proof of the grade you are applying for (student ID, degree certificate, or academic rank).
  3. Email everything in one message to membership@hksact.org.
  4. Use the subject line: HKSACT Membership Application — [Your Name] — [Grade].
